The Marine and Coastal Research Institute (IIMyC, UNMdP-CONICET), a joint venture between the National University of Mar del Plata and the Scientific and Technological Center of CONICET in Mar del Plata, was created to integrate areas of knowledge related to the sea, the natural sciences and sustainable development in their area of influence. Projects include on the biology, behaviour, spatial ecology and conservation of albatrosses and petrels interacting with high-seas fisheries off the Argentine Continental Shelf

The Agreement on the
Conservation of Albatrosses and Petrels

ACAP is a multilateral agreement which seeks to conserve listed albatrosses, petrels and shearwaters by coordinating international activity to mitigate known threats to their populations.
