Welcome! Brazil becomes ACAP’s 12th Party today

The Federal Republic of Brazil becomes the 12th Party to the Agreement on the Conservation of Albatrosses and Petrels today, following the submission of its Instrument of Ratification to the Depository in Canberra, Australia on 3 September 2008.

 

Brazil is one of the seven original signatories to the Agreement (click here for the list of Parties).  All the signatories to the Agreement have now submitted their instruments of ratification and become Parties.

The next, and 13th, Party to ACAP will be Uruguay, on 1 January 2009 (see earlier news item).

Conservation of Albatrosses and Petrels

ACAP is a multilateral agreement which seeks to conserve listed albatrosses, petrels and shearwaters by coordinating international activity to mitigate known threats to their populations.
