Carpeta ADVISORY COMMITTEE

The first Meeting of the Parties established an Advisory Committee to provide expert advice and information to ACAP Parties, the Secretariat and others.

Carpeta MEETING OF THE PARTIES

The Meeting of the Parties (MOP) is the decision-making body of the Agreement. Ordinary sessions of the MOP have to be held at intervals of not more than three years, unless the Meeting of the Parties decides otherwise.

Carpeta NEGOTIATION MEETINGS

Three meetings have been held to develop the Agreement. The first was held in Canberra, Australia in June 1999, the second was held in Hobart, Australia, in July 2000 and the third and final meeting was held in Cape Town, South Africa in January / February 2001.

Carpeta SPECIES ASSESSMENTS

The ACAP Species Assessments contain the most recent scientific information regarding albatross and petrel species listed under the Agreement. These assessments provide data on each species' population status and trends, their distribution, the threats they face both at breeding sites and at sea, as well as the conservation measures that are in place to protect them.

CONSULTANCY REGISTER

The ACAP Secretariat has on occasion a requirement to engage consultants to undertake defined projects related to the work of the Agreement. Consultants who have expertise relevant to seabird conservation are invited to send an expression of interest to secretariat(at)acap.aq listing their qualifications, skills and examples of relevant work they have undertaken, together with an indicative schedule of fees.
